Deacon Ministries

Our Deacons minister among the congregation in a variety of ways

2017-2018 DEACONS BROCHURE

VISITATION:  A prayerful effort to come alongside our church family and friends with God-given concern and compassion, any time we learn of physical or emotional suffering. Deacons visit church members wherever they are receiving care or support.

PRAYER CHAIN: Deacons serve by ministering to all who request prayer.

MEMORIAL & FUNERAL ASSISTANCE: Deacons help with greeting, ushering and serving refreshments at receptions following services, as well as offering follow-up support to grieving family members and friends.

WORSHIP SERVICES: The Deacons lead in worship and hymn song services at Aegis Assisted Living six times per year on Sunday afternoons.

AND MORE: Other ways deacons minister among our church family include temporarily providing meals to those in crisis, providing transportation to and from Sunday worship services and delivering Christmas poinsettias and Easter lillies to our shut-ins.

Church Service at Aegis Assisted Living

Deacons are out and about in our community sharing God's love to those that have lost much of their independence.

On the second Sunday of every even month (Bi-Monthly) of the year we gather together with our friends at Aegis

Assisted Living for a church service. With prayer, scripture readings, songs, fellowship and more we bring the church to them!

Our accompanist Richard Huff has been playing for this service for years, and helps with the song choices in

addition to playing the piano so beautifully. Deacons share in the opening prayer and scripture readings, and

Pastor Wayne always closes with a special message and blessing. Last but not least is CPC's therapy dog named

Sheena who brings unconditional love with her wags and licks!

It is such a joy to bring God's message and words to these wonderful people."

In Him,

Margaret Jackson
