New Vistas
(singles & couples 50+)

We welcome you, whether visiting our town for the day, or a local resident who is wrestling with the larger issues of life--the issues many of us "Baby Boomers" face in our spiritual and every day life--to join us. At the very least, we promise you won't be bored! As a matter of fact, we feel you will be blessed! We meet together on Sunday mornings at 9:15 between the first and second service for a time of interacting in learning, sharing, and caring. Together we are encouraged while seeking to grow in our knowledge of God and to further our part in the great mission to know, worship, and proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord.

We wish to share with you our current course: Selected Passages from the Bible. Join us as we go deeper into God's Word through an indepth study of selected passages. Our instructor is Aahmas Overton.

BENEFITS OF FELLOWSHIP AT NEW VISTAS---

Emotional Support:

We are currently forming “small groups” within our group. As the “Sandwich Generation,” we have grandparents raising grandchildren, parents raising children while assisting aging parents, members coping with the illness of a spouse, members coping with sudden singleness, impending or current retirement issues, and all of the other situations unique to our age group. We value your experiences which can edify and encourage others; we are here to offer the same to you so we can build each other up.

Prayer Support:

One of the most important, or possibly the most important, aspects of the New Vistas group is our prayer support system.  Each Sunday every group member has the opportunity to submit written blessings or burdens ("B&Bs") to the group.  These requests can be anonymous, if desired.  At the end of our time together, our prayer team leads the group in prayer for these items.  Your privacy is respected to the greatest degree possible, while still allowing us to pray for you.  Throughout the week, our leadership team and group members continue to pray over these requests.  God has been generous and faithful in answering the prayers of the New Vistas group.  We have seen many miracles in the form of answered prayer!

Fun:

We are a group who appreciates life; have seen enough and lived through enough to know what is and what is not truly serious. This, of course, allows us to poke fun at ourselves and crack wise at the world at large on occasion. Our social events are terrific and should you choose to get involved in our service events, not only will your soul be nourished, you’ll have a blast, too!

Faith Without Works . . . . .
