| On January 31, 1869 a meeting was held in the schoolhouse and ten people became charter members of the Presbyterian Church of San Buenaventura. (Our church is the oldest Presbyterian church in continuous service in Southern California.) During the month of January we commemorate the 143rd anniversary of the founding of Community Presbyterian Church. Take a few minutes to learn about the heritage of our church by reading the pamphlet in the pew and visiting the front entrance foyer and learning about CPC’s history from the photos on display.
On Heritage Sunday we will be offering guided tours of the Sanctuary and the Bell Tower, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to get to know a bit more about our church home. I think you will be surprised at all the things you didn't know about our church and the amazing facility we have been blessed with.
