LOCAL MISSIONS - CITY CENTER TRANSITIONAL LIVING, INC VENTURA
City Center is supported by 14 churches and hundreds of community members and businesses that have united to rebuild lives of homeless families by providing food, shelter, support services, and spiritual discipleship. With twenty-seven of the thirty rooms of the old City Center Motel renovated, we have been able to get many families and singles off of the streets of Ventura. Most are single moms, but we’ve also helped single dads providing for their children. There are three more rooms on a second floor that we haven’t started. Each room costs approximately $7500 to renovate and many hours of volunteer labor. Learn more on the City Center Website.
During Domestic Violence Awareness month this October, The City Center is hosting our third annual Team Up Against Domestic Violence awareness event at River Community Church on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6 to 8pm. The evening will feature a panel of the residents of The City Center who will share their experiences in battling Domestic Violence and their ways of overcoming in order to provide a better life for their self and their children.
This is a powerful evening filled with music and stories of hope and restoration...all made possible in our city because of the courage of our residents and the support and guidance they receive at The City Center. Each guest will also be given an opportunity to be part of the solution to protect children and families.

After two plus years we have received the occupancy permit for the back eight rooms and have started moving residents in. Come join the celebration on July 13, 2017 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at The City Center located at 837 Thompson Blvd. You will have the opportunity to tour designated units, hear life changing examples from some of our residents and more about how you can help serve these previously homeless families from Ventura.
