The mission of Life-stage Discipleship...
is to connect adults in growing, caring communities that are learning to know Jesus as Lord,
to worship Jesus as Lord, to proclaim Jesus as Lord...
...and to actively expand the influence of Christ's kingdom to our community, church and world.

A Life-stage Discipleship Group (LDG) is a mid-sized learning community that gathers during the
Sunday morning education hour for interactive Bible teaching. Participants also gather at other
times in smaller groups for fellowship, prayer, accountability, and community outreach.
Life-stage Discipleship provides:
- An opportunity to meet other adults who share a common life situation and to discover
pathways to friendship and growth here at Community Presbyterian Church (CPC). Current groups include:
Young Adults (singles, couples without kids, 23+)
Single Adults (40+)
Parents of Young Children
Parents of Elementary/Early Teen Children
Parents of Older Teens/Young Adults
New Vistas (couples and singles, 50+)
Seasoned Saints (65+)
- An opportunity to engage in intelligent adult learning that equips you for consistent thinking and
living under Lordship of Christ. This takes place as your group journeys together through a three-year curriculum organized around core beliefs and practices of the Christian Faith. The courses for the 2008-2011 learning cycle are based on CPC's mission statement:
These trimester-long core courses cycle through all the Life-stage Discipleship groups over three
years, alternating with elective courses. Elective courses normally relate to the life situation and
interests of the group, as chosen by the group's leadership team. |
