NICK & MAIA MIKHALUK
Nick and Maia Mikhaluk began with a small group Bible study movement, but today International Partnerships is a ministry of Ukrainian and Russian Christians committed to reaching the leaders, influencers, and professionals of the Ukraine and other Russian speaking countries, helping them grow spiritually and plant churches. During these days of war they remain at their home on the 7th floor of an apartment complex in Kyiv. Their daughter Sasha and her husband Nikita and brand new baby grand daughter Briana live next door. Their son Danny is in college at Asbury in Kentucky. Nick and Maia continue to serve and encourage their neighbors and churches. Maia has gained an international following with her Facebook postings as well as recurring conversations with Marco Werman on PRX “The World.” You can follow Maia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/maia.mikhaluk
If you would like to help International Partnerships with humanitarian aid efforts you can donate through their website https://ipministry.org/donate/. The needs are growing as they continue helping thousands of people to move west within Ukraine and helping those who want to leave the country temporarily. IP needs funds most of all for gas, but also for food and various supplies (medical, bed linens, mattresses, etc). Thank you.
Updates from Maia Mikhaluk:
873rd day.
The church in Donetsk region, which had survived Soviet rule, World War II and German occupation, was destroyed during ruzzian shelling in July 2024.
Russians bombed this 110-year-old Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos on July 8, 2024. Now only painted walls and damaged icons remain of it.
As of April 14, 2024 630 places of worship have been completely destroyed or partially damaged by ruzzian troops.
872nd day (Sunday, July 14, 2024
It has been a difficult week - massive missile attack that hit children’s hospital, the abnormal heat and even longer than usual blackouts, somewhat disappointing results of NATO Summit.
Today our church welcomed some kids who survived the missile strike and their families. Together we turn our prayers to God.
870th day.
A few days following ruzzian missile strike on the Children’s hospital in Kyiv on July 8th kids who were patients during the strike and who were evacuated to other hospitals continue dying. Over the past two days 2 kids died. Their unique treatments and sterile conditions under which they should have stayed have been disrupted and the threat to the lives of many patients of that hospital continues even now.
Meanwhile, next day after that deadly missile strike on July 9th ruzzia presided in UN Security Council and to celebrate their presidency ruzzians hosted a luncheon in the UN, featuring the Ukrainian dish chicken Kyiv on the menu. The cynicism and moral degradation of ruzzians is not shocking anymore. But what is shocking as someone said “how the UN let a country that is sanctioned to the eyeballs and has a number of its top gangsters on an international arrest warrant hold this presidency? It’s like letting Al Capone become governor of Alcatraz!”
PS. In the photo is one of surgery rooms of the children’s hospital during the missile strike. On the surgery table there is an 8-months-old baby who was about to be operated. when ruzzian missile hit. There were four other surgeries taking place during the strike.
