God's Hidden Treasures

God’s Hidden Treasures is a ministry based in Bila Tserkva, Ukraine, about 50 kilometers south of Kyiv. GHT was founded by Nita Hanson over 20 years ago when she obeyed God’s call to leave her home in Thousand Oaks and serve the lost and forgotten in Ukraine. Nita leads a team of Ukrainian workers who provide for the disabled, repair and distribute wheelchairs, offer rehabilitation services to stroke victims, visit and monitor diabetes patients through in-home health care, operate a mobile medical clinic, and work in the orphanages.

During these months of war with Russia GHT is providing many different services including packing a delivering food and aid for displaced and forgotten people as well as soldiers. They have also provided a lot of help getting people moved out of war zones. Many of these deliveries are happening in dangerous conditions and areas.

June 26, 2025 Update from Nita Hanson:

Sunday night, the 22nd, was a true night of terror for Bila Tserkva and Forcee.  I have heard distant explosions before, but Sunday night from about 1 to 4 am was no longer distant.  At first I thought I heard someone banging on my window.  I thought maybe someone from my office was coming to tell me what all the strange noises were and went to look.  No one was there, but I saw something fiery fly by my house, and I realized that no one was banging on my window, but it was very loud machine gun fire (it was our home guards shooting at the drones aimed at Forcee).  Then the explosions became so loud I thought surely my neighbor’s house had been hit, but it was still standing.  Being all alone at such a time is awful.

The next day everyone at the office looked dazed and drained.  Bila Tserkva got hit pretty hard as many rockets and drones hit them.  One clinic that I had been to several days before was totally destroyed and the hospital right next to them was hit and 1 woman died there.  Now all of us lay waiting at night, wondering if it’s going to start again.  I can’t imagine living in Kiev where this is pretty much a nightly experience for them.

In my last update I mentioned the dream I believe God put in my heart to build some homes for the poorest refugees who cannot afford to even rent a place to live.  We have offered to purchase 3 pieces of land very close to where my house is.  The offer was accepted, but we are running into some legal questions because GHT, Ukraine is buying the land and I am the founder.  It is a problem because I am an American.  Please be praying that all of the legal questions can be resolved.

While waiting, we are working with some contractors about the design of the condominiums we want to build.  It looks like we would be able to build 5 condo’s on each piece of land for a total of 15.  Each condo will be a small 1 bedroom, and each condo will have a little plot of land so they can plant some vegetables and flowers.

Please pray for God to resolve all problems and for Him to rain down His blessings on us.  My dream is to break ground this year and have the first 5 condo’s finished early 2026.

We held a picnic for all of our “kids” with special needs and their moms (even though many of them are older now).  The children of the soldiers killed in the war who we have been helping volunteered to be our helpers - they did a great job and I was so proud of them!  And 1 of the widows planned all of the entertainment.  It was such a special fun and happy day for all of us.  And, of course we had delicious food too which our guys barbecued!

One Ukrainian organization that we have been working with for numerous projects asked us to help supply a mobile hospital.  They have outfitted a couple of buses to enable them to pick up wounded soldiers from the front battle lines and start instant medical care on the way to the hospital.  Many lives are being saved by their sacrifice and bravery.  I am very proud that GHT is a small part of this project.

And our Chaplain Andre continues to take food and other supplies to people living close to the fighting (some as close as 1 kilometer).  When he came to us last time he asked for a double supply of food and hygiene products because, in his words, “they have no food because no one is willing to go there”.  We gave him 100 food bags and 100 bags of hygiene products, plus 2 generators and off he went to the front.  He called us yesterday and told us that they were being targeted by drones and Andrii says that “they are alive because of God's grace”.

And so we continue God’s work during these perilous times, and will do so as long as God provides.  Thank you again for your prayers and support.  We at GHT and our loved ones are all safe so far.  Your continuous prayers and support have literally helped thousands.
