God's Hidden Treasures

God’s Hidden Treasures is a ministry based in Bila Tserkva, Ukraine, about 50 kilometers south of Kyiv. GHT was founded by Nita Hanson over 20 years ago when she obeyed God’s call to leave her home in Thousand Oaks and serve the lost and forgotten in Ukraine. Nita leads a team of Ukrainian workers who provide for the disabled, repair and distribute wheelchairs, offer rehabilitation services to stroke victims, visit and monitor diabetes patients through in-home health care, operate a mobile medical clinic, and work in the orphanages.

During these months of war with Russia GHT is providing many different services including packing a delivering food and aid for displaced and forgotten people as well as soldiers. They have also provided a lot of help getting people moved out of war zones. Many of these deliveries are happening in dangerous conditions and areas.

December, 2025 Update from Nita Hanson:

I arrived safely back in Ukraine on October 18th, and I am so thankful to be back here with all the people I love and care for!

The initial design for our Building Project was changed by the city so now we will have 3 buildings, each with 4 one bedroom townhomes for a total of 12.  Each townhome will have approximately 500 square feet with lots of storage space built in.  The buildings for the second piece of property will be negotiated after we finish the first 3 buildings.  For more detailed information on the project, including all price breakdowns, please go to our website:  godshiddentreasures.org and look under the Refugee Building Project.

Ground has officially been broken and work on the first 3 buildings begun.  The hope is that all 3 foundations will be done, and the first 2 building’s walls and roofs in place before the freezing weather comes, at which time most of the work will shut down until Spring 2026.  So far the utilities have been brought in, the well has been drilled, and much progress has been made.  I love driving by each day to see the continued progress - kind of makes my day!

Right now we have the funds to pour the 3 foundations and enclose the first 2 buildings.  We plan to move in the first 4 families late Spring or early summer 2026.  If God grants us a miracle, we can finish the second building and move in 8 families, with the hope to complete all 3 buildings by fall of 2026.

This month I will start interviewing some of the refugee families, with the goal to choose the first 4 families before I leave on December 30th.

We celebrated Thanksgiving last week.  My office says it is now our tradition and we have to do it each year even though it is not a Ukrainian holiday.  I cook 2 huge turkeys, along with dressing, and gravy and the office does the rest.  On Monday, I make Turkey pies and gravy out of the leftovers!   It has become a wonderful time of very close sharing as we go around the table and everyone gives thanks for how God has blessed them.

We have started our Heating Project again this year.  We are gathering information on who all will be included and expect more than 70 families this year.  This month we will collect their heating bills for November and pay them.  The project will end on April 1st after winter is officially over.  We have bought wood for some families who live in nearby villages.

We are also gearing up for our Christmas projects and will be taking St. Nickolas to the new people this year, with a small gift.  We will also be giving a special Christmas food package to the 100 plus people we help feed each month.

And, of course, all of our normal ministries.

Bila Tserkva has been hit a couple of times since I returned but thank God all our people are safe.  Please continue to pray for this horrible war to end soon.  Everyone is weary of the daily bad news on the continued destruction of Ukraine.  Come Lord Jesus, come!

Our building project is a big encouragement to all of us here.  I am so very thankful for the generous donations towards it, and praying that God will continue to bless His work here.

Thank you to the hundreds of you who make it all possible!
