high school yosemite camping trip

High School Yosemite 2026
June 12-16

All 9th–12th grade students are invited!

Get ready for a week of adventure, rest, and friendship as we tent-camp near Yosemite National Park. We’ll spend our days hiking to waterfalls, floating down the Merced River, exploring iconic granite cliffs, worshiping under a sky full of stars, and soaking in one of the most breathtaking places on earth.

In the middle of Yosemite’s beauty, we’ll lean into this hope together: If God can create a place this stunning, imagine what God is able to do with our lives.

Our theme, Immeasurably More, reminds us that God is at work in ways bigger than what we can ask or imagine. And just like we see in the Book of Esther, God often meets us in unexpected places... shaping our courage, purpose, and story along the way.

Space is limited—invite a friend and register soon!

Save $50! $245 early bird rate (by 5/1) Camperships available!

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to provide my own camping gear?
Possibly!  For students who would like to stay in their own tent, they may bring a 1-2 person size tent.  Students who are comfortable staying with others may bring a tent to share.  Each student will need to bring their own sleeping bag, pillow, camping chair, flashlight/headlamp and hiking/running shoes. (Good shoes are a must as we’ll be doing some hiking. It won’t be too strenuous but we want to make sure everyone is prepared and avoid injuries!)

What do I need to bring?
Here’s the Packing List! (The list may change slightly due to the weather forecast and a complete list will be emailed two weeks before we leave.)

What's included with the price?
The price includes transportation, campground, 12 meals, activities and some fun surprises!  (Students are asked to bring money for a quick lunch on the way up.)

What are we going to do?
Have an incredible time! The plan is to hike Vernal Falls, explore Yosemite Valley, float down the Merced River, swim and relax by Tenaya Lake, swim in the pool & play some mini golf at the campground are just some of the things planned! (Some of our plans may adjust with water levels, weather, etc.)

What are we going to learn about? Will we be reading the Bible nonstop for four days on this church trip?
But we will spend time in Scripture in ways that feel meaningful and connected to real life. God’s Word helps us see who God is, who we are, and how God shows up in the everyday moments we’re living.

We’ll spend some time with the story of Esther — someone who discovered that God is able to work in surprising places and through ordinary people (including her). Her story helps us notice how God might be moving in our own lives, too. And Yosemite gives us the perfect backdrop for that kind of learning. If God can create towering cliffs, rushing water, giant trees, and night skies full of stars, imagine what God is able to do in our lives.

So yes — we’ll open the Bible together a few times, and we’ll also keep learning as we hike, laugh, rest, explore, and pay attention to the beauty around us and the community we’re part of.

Is financial assistance available?
Absolutely! We are thankful for CPC's commitment to getting students away from the distractions of every day life to enjoy time in nature and with leaders and peers learning together about God's character, love, and grace. Please mark requesting campership on the registration form and Camie will reach out so we can get your student (or student's friend) to camp! We would also LOVE your help at our Everyone’s Invited Art & Talent Show that’s a great fundraiser on Sunday, May 3)

Can I invite my friend?
Absolutely! Share this information & bring a friend along! They can receive financial assistance too!

What leaders will be there?
Camie & Tami will absolutely be there along with some of our other high school leaders. Due to work schedules, we are still figuring out exactly who will be there but rest assured that whatever leaders come are there to care for your students and continue building the relationships they have with them! All our leaders have cleared DOJ & FBI background checks, personal recommendations, and receive regular training to work with our students.
