high school yosemite camping trip
All students going into 9th–12th grade Fall ‘26 and the Class of 2026 are invited!
We’ll be tent camping near Yosemite National Park, spending our days hiking to waterfalls, floating the Merced River, exploring granite cliffs, worshiping under the stars, and sharing a week of adventure, rest, and friendship in one of the most breathtaking places on earth.
Surrounded by the beauty of Yosemite, we’ll lean into this hope together: If God can create a place this stunning, imagine what God is able to do with our lives. Our theme, Immeasurably More, will root us in the truth that God can do far more in and through us than we can ask, imagine, or see in the moment. And just like we glimpse in the Book of Esther, God often works in the unexpected places where we begin to see how God’s story is shaping ours.
$75 deposit to reserve your spot! Save $50 with Early Bird Registration before May 1st!
Space is limited! Registration closes when full or 6/1, whichever comes first.
We never want anyone to miss out on camp because of finances. If a campership would help, just select the option on the registration form—we’ll take care of the rest. CPC is committed to giving students time away from the everyday distractions to be in nature, build community, and explore more of God’s character, love, and grace. When you indicate you’re requesting a campership, Camie will reach out personally to make sure you (or your friend) have everything needed to join us.
We’d love to have you at camp!
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I need to provide my own camping gear?
Possibly! For students who would like to stay in their own tent, they may bring a 1-2 person size tent. Students who are comfortable staying with others may bring a tent to share. Each student will need to bring their own sleeping bag, pillow, camping chair, flashlight/headlamp and hiking/running shoes. (Good shoes are a must as we’ll be doing some hiking. It won’t be too strenuous but we want to make sure everyone is prepared and avoid injuries!)
What do I need to bring?
Here’s the Packing List! (The list may change slightly due to the weather forecast and a complete list will be emailed two weeks before we leave.)
What's included with the price?
The price includes transportation, campground, 12 meals, activities and some fun surprises! (Students are asked to bring money for a quick lunch on the way up.)
What are we going to do?
Have an incredible time! The plan is to hike Vernal Falls, explore Yosemite Valley, float down the Merced River, swim and relax by Tenaya Lake, swim in the pool & play some mini golf at the campground are just some of the things planned! (Some of our plans may adjust with water levels, weather, etc.)
What are we going to learn about? Will we be reading the Bible nonstop for four days on this church trip?
But we will spend time in Scripture in ways that feel meaningful and connected to real life. God’s Word helps us see who God is, who we are, and how God shows up in the everyday moments we’re living.
We’ll spend some time with the story of Esther — someone who discovered that God is able to work in surprising places and through ordinary people (including her). Her story helps us notice how God might be moving in our own lives, too. And Yosemite gives us the perfect backdrop for that kind of learning. If God can create towering cliffs, rushing water, giant trees, and night skies full of stars, imagine what God is able to do in our lives.
So yes — we’ll open the Bible together a few times, and we’ll also keep learning as we hike, laugh, rest, explore, and pay attention to the beauty around us and the community we’re part of.
Is financial assistance available?
Absolutely! We are thankful for CPC's commitment to getting students away from the distractions of every day life to enjoy time in nature and with leaders and peers learning together about God's character, love, and grace. Please mark requesting campership on the registration form and Camie will reach out so we can get your student (or student's friend) to camp! We would also LOVE your help at our Everyone’s Invited Art & Talent Show that’s a great fundraiser on Sunday, May 3)
Can I invite my friend?
Absolutely! Share this information & bring a friend along! They can receive financial assistance too!
What leaders will be there?
Camie & Tami will absolutely be there along with some of our other high school leaders. Due to work schedules, we are still figuring out exactly who will be there but rest assured that whatever leaders come are there to care for your students and continue building the relationships they have with them! All our leaders have cleared DOJ & FBI background checks, personal recommendations, and receive regular training to work with our students.
